Cellulite has traditionally been hard to treat with many treatments often ineffective. Acoustic waves cause breakdown in fat cells as well as remodelling of the skin. This approach is designed to enhance skin texture and freshness, with results varying according to individual factors.

Treatments consist of using some ultrasound gel and applying the shockwave probe over the treatment area lasting between 5 and 30 minutes depending on areas treated. There is no pain involved nor use of anesthesia. Sessions can be combined with mesotherapy for further benefits.

Shockwave treatment has shown promising results in clinical trials to be a non pharmacological way of increasing blood flow and some studies suggest shockwave therapy may support circulation and tissue health, though results vary and suitability is assessed individually. Typically 6 to 10 sessions are needed that last 5 to 10 minutes. Numbing cream may be used or inhaled anesthetic gas to reduce any discomfort.
